Eric grew up in Burma, and inherited from his newspaper reporter father and schoolteacher mother a love for travel amid cultures far different from those experienced by an ordinary stateside American child. He grew especially fond of China where he has traveled extensively and has invested in publicly traded companies, many of which he has visited personally. He now lives in Burlington, Vermont where he is an Investment Manager with Hanson & Doremus Investments and he continues his involvement with China, including investment activities. Eric speaks both Mandarin and English.
Eric Hanson Biography
Eric Hanson is a partner in the Investment Management Firm, Hanson & Doremus, founded in July 1995. He has managed money in Burlington since 1971. A graduate of St. Lawrence University, Eric is both a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA®) and a Certified Financial Planner®.
He presently lectures at the University of Vermont teaching a course titled, Personal Finance & Investing. Eric has served on the Board or as Board Chair of the Vermont Symphony Orchestra, the Baird Center for Children and Families, the Nature Conservancy and the Humane Society of Chittenden County. He is presently on the Board of the Vermont Council on World Affairs, the Vermont Chinese School and St. Lawrence University. Eric lives in Burlington.
